Get Involved

Support the Museum by becoming a Member or a Sponsor. Renewable every October, annual Memberships and Sponsorships are the foundation of our efforts to be self-sustaining. There are two basic annual Membership levels, and several levels of Sponsorship. All members receive admission to our annual membership gala – “Night at the Museum” – an evening of food, wine and beer tasting, and entertainment, as well as an Annual Report, emailed or snail mailed as desired, and a 20% discount on event fees. Members at the higher Patron level also receive a free ticket to a Carnegie Trolley Tour of their choice. All levels of Sponsorship offer the benefits of membership, in addition to name recognition in our program promotional materials.

Donate
1) Keweenaw Community Foundation Designated Endowment Fund
http://www.k-c-f.org/give-now
We have an Endowment Fund at the Keweenaw Community Foundation. The purpose of the Fund is for “the support, maintenance, and promotion of The Carnegie Museum.” Donations to our KCF fund will help us to build an endowment that will ensure the longevity of the Museum.

2) Monetary Donations Restricted or Unrestricted
Monetary donations of any size are always welcome and appreciated. If you wish to make a restricted donation, one that is designated for a specific purpose such as publicity, exhibits, programs, renovations, etc., please specify exactly how your donation may (or may not) be used. Unrestricted donations will be applied at the discretion of the Museum Director and / or Board of Directors. We happily accept monetary donations at the museum, or you may send a donation to: Carnegie Museum, 105 Huron Street, Houghton, MI, 49931. Please make checks payable to "Carnegie Museum".

3) Donations To Collections
The Carnegie Museum is a non-collecting Museum. Occasionally, however, we will accept small objects such as postcards, photos, and small memorabilia which are usually then passed on to a local archive. We are always happy to help you find a home for your treasure and will direct you to a local group that maintains a collection. We often borrow objects from private collections to use in our displays for which we will put out a call for specific items or field of items.

Volunteer
Museum volunteers can contribute in many ways. There is a job for every interest -- from taking care of the building and grounds, to researching and hanging exhibits, or managing the desk during public hours. During the summer months we especially need help in our garden and grounds. If you would like to volunteer or have a special skill you would like to share, please let us know. We would be happy to match your interest with our needs! Stop in or contact the museum director,
